Man this movie has stuck with me ever since I first saw it as a child. And it literally breaks my heart how disney actively sabotaged this movie. I even had Jim sailing on his solar sail as my phone background for the longest time.

Treasure Planet, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Atlantis, The Rescuer's Down Under and The Black Cauldron are, in my opinion, the five most underrated Disney Animated movies.

I'm high autistic but didn't know at the time, but when I was young kid, after breaking my arm and losing trust in people because no one helped me, I walked miles from home. holding my arm, with my bone sticking out, blood everywhere, (thinking about it gives me PTSD btw..) but that started my lost of trust and open my eyes more to what was happening , but also I never wanted to accept i was different . ( I didn't know how to control my voice or yell as a kid btw so no one was able to help till i walked home kind far) so for many years I kept battling with myself, saying im not different , just evil .. one night my parents forced me to stay the night at this random boy's place, and I didn't want too and they didn't tell me, I was sad depressed crying that night in the boy's room, while all the boys were sleeping, and this song played on the Tv, and I kind of realized what It meant, and I related to It alot. Sounds silly but yeah, so this song means alot to me.. reminds me about being accepting who you are are and also find others the few that accept you and treasure them

One of the best films Disney ever made. That's saying a lot, and im not a Disney fan, but damn it if they weren't good at making movies once upon a time. Now they've lost their touch and become part of the flavorless, thoughtless, underachieving, money grabbing, sequel driven, petrified of taking risks, pandering industry. Where's the magic?

It’s quite random, but this is one of my favourite songs of all time. The lyrics, the melody, the instrumentals speak to me so deeply. It makes me feel hope that there is a better future ahead - that one day my time will come.

We need all these no worries songs so our overlords can keep us distracted and complacent. Pay no mind to the fact that the movie had to be approved by the United States military and Cia just like all other major films.

Who else loves this movie

I was 6 years old when this movie came around. I had the VHS of this movie and would watch it on repeat. I didnt understand at the time why it was my favorite movie or why it spoke so much to me, but I came from a fatherless home. My father walked out on me just like Jim's father did, and I never knew why. I grew up just wanting someone to give me a chance to prove that I'm worth it. Looking back at it now and listening to this song I finally understand. We may not know all the reasons why people betray us the way they do, but we can choose to be better and walk a good path. We can reach out and experience life still, we can carve our own path and blaze our own trails. We don't have to be defeated and give up. Eventually we will find the place we belong. So to all the people who watched this movie as a kid and had father issues, I want you to know that you're not alone. And just like you, I'm still here.
